The GE Holiday Shopping Experience for Club Kids

Last week, ten Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady (BGCS) youth members were able to go holiday shopping for their family members thanks to the GE Holiday Shopping Experience for Club Kids. These kids loved the opportunity to pick out toys, clothing and even warm slippers for their family members, which will make their holidays incredibly special since they are able to give to the ones they love.

Among the participating members is Solmari, age 7, who was shopping for her six family members including 7-month-old Nate. Her volunteer, Sarah, helped her comb the aisles looking for that perfect gift – Zolmari decided on a cuddly teddy bear because Nate loves to hug her and she thought he would love the soft teddy bear.

Cameron, a 9-year-old Rotterdam Club member, shopped for his Mom and Dad and received a quality lesson in gift-wrapping from GE volunteer Charlie.

BGCS member Nadya, 6-years-old, attends the Steinmetz Club regularly. She was shopping for two of her family members and had a hard time picking out what would be the perfect gift.

GE has been providing a holiday shopping experience for members for nearly two decades! Thank you GE for your continued support of the Schenectady community and the youth we serve.
