Congratulations to Alexander George Gonyea the 2019 Recipient of the Mary Ann Hogan Scholarship Fund

Please join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady in congratulating Alexander George Gonyea who was awarded the 2019 Mary Ann Hogan Scholarship Fund announced at the May 15 Board of Directors Annual Meeting. Alexander, a senior at Schenectady High School, maintains a 3.45 average and ranks 28th in a class of 674. He has received a full scholarship to Syracuse University of which he will major in Journalism in the fall. The purpose of the Mary Ann Hogan Memorial Scholarship, established in 2013, is to reward a high school senior who exemplifies the same qualities and courageous attitude that Mary portrayed throughout her 62 years on earth. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is proud to announce the 2018-2019 Youth of the Year: Thalia Maynor! Thalia is a junior at Schenectady High School and has been a member of the Steinmetz Boys & Girls Club since she was six-years old. Two words that best describe Thalia are dedication and hard working. While spending over 100 hours volunteering at the Club and in her community in 2018, Thalia was also able to achieve stellar grades and play two high school sports. Thalia is part of the accelerated International Baccalaureate Program at Schenectady High School, taking the most difficult courses offered to students. She has a 3.2 average and ranks 58th in a class of 493 students. She also

On the morning of May 15, the Board of Directors of the Boys Girls Clubs of Schenectady (BGCS) gathered at Mohawk Golf Club for their annual meeting with much business to address. The 2018 Youth of the Year was announced – Thalia Maynor, a junior at Schenectady High School and member of the Steinmetz Homes affiliate of BGCS.
