Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady’s Annual Fall Fling & Auction back and better than ever in 2022!
On Friday, November 4, generous supporters of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady gathered at The Glen Sanders Mansion to celebrate the Annual Fall Fling & Auction Presented by the Albany Med Health System and Dimension Fabricators, Inc. The event was themed, ‘Field of Dreams – If you Build It…They Will Come’ in honor of the Adeline Wright Graham Clubhouse, which officially opened its doors to the community in January of 2020.
After a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Fall Fling Co-Chairs Beth Milton and Caroline Ahl were anxious to bring their vision to life! The event also named Coleen and Scott Stevens as Honorary Chairs to celebrate their commitment to families in our community. They were joined in the celebration by family and several businesses from the greater Schenectady community.
Guests were excited to gather in support of Schenectady’s premiere youth organization and were surprised with a live performance from Shane Bargy, Executive Director, with two songs from his 2021 album ‘Turn On the Light’. His daughters joined him for the performance of the song ‘Just Hope’ written by then 8-year-old Madeline Bargy while on lockdown during the pandemic.
Guests enjoyed a silent auction with a variety of items ranging from jewelry, home décor, sports memorabilia, restaurant gift cards, and a lot more. Liz Bishop, award winning and long-time anchor for CBS6, and Shane Bargy teamed up as Co-Auctioneers for an incredible Live Auction in which guests had the opportunity to take home one-of-a-kind items. Guests playfully (and competitively!) tried to outbid each other to obtain incredible items that included a one week stay in a Mexican Paradise, front row seats to an NFL Giants game, and an autographed 2018 Ryder Cup flag, to name a few.
