Please join us in celebrating our 2022-2023 Youth of the Year!

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is proud to introduce Jace Caterina, the 2022 -2023 Youth of the Year. Jace is a senior at Scotia-Glenville High School and has been a member of the Adeline Wright Graham Clubhouse since 2021. As a member, Jace has worked diligently with the YWCA and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady to bring a program called Help Save the Next Girl to the club. This program focuses on helping individuals gain self-confidence and the skills needed to recognize and protect against predatory behavior.

Jace has assisted in starting over 100 chapters of Help Save the Next Girl in the US and Canada. This volunteering and creation mindset can be seen in Jace’s participation with the chapter of this program at the Adeline Wright Graham Clubhouse. Jace helps to facilitate two groups of this program, one consisting of 8- to 10-year-olds and the other with 11- to 13-year-olds. In addition to volunteering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady, Jace is also a Representative on the New York State Governor’s Youth Council, where Jace acts as a voice for the youth of Schenectady County.


Jace has worked at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady’s Camp Lovejoy location as a Counselor in Training. In this position, Jace earned the Outstanding Employee Certificate for consistently demonstrating a positive work ethic. Three terms Jace uses to describe themself is hardworking, open-minded, and problem-solving.


The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is proud to announce Jace will be attending the State University of New York at New Paltz in the Fall of 2023. Jace will be studying Adolescent Education with a concentration in English.
