Fall Fling & Auction: Community Unites for BGCS Premier Fundraiser

On Friday, November 10, the Glen Sanders Mansion hosted a heartwarming gathering of dedicated supporters for the Annual Fall Fling & Auction, a flagship fundraising event for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady, generously presented by Dimension Fabricators, Inc.

Guided by the creative direction of Fall Fling Co-Chairs, Beth Milton and Caroline Ahl, the event came to life with a theme centered around Family, Friends, and Golf. Attendees were engaged in the spirited "Putts for a Purpose," a captivating cocktail hour putting competition that not only tested skills but also rewarded winners with a chance to enter a raffle for a $1,000 shopping spree at Northeastern Fine Jewelers.

The celebration took a special turn as Debby and Michael Mullaney were named Honorary Chairs, celebrating their unwavering commitment to families in our community. As this announcement was made, they were surrounded by family, friends, and supported by businesses from the greater Schenectady community.

A highlight of the evening was the silent auction, featuring an array of coveted items, from exquisite jewelry to home décor, sports memorabilia, restaurant gift cards, and beyond. Guiding the evening's activities, Executive Director Scott Hayden introduced Liz Bishop, the award-winning anchor for CBS6, to preside over the engaging "Heads or Tails" activity. The live auction, led by the charismatic LeGrande Serras, offered guests the chance to acquire exclusive items, including a hot air balloon ride, a week-long stay in a Myrtle Beach condominium, a gourmet wine-pairing dinner at the Schrader & Company Construction Services showroom with Chef Rick Sleeper from the Cock 'n Bull Restaurant, and a week's stay at an Adirondack cabin (complete with a hot tub, sauna, and elevator).

This remarkable event would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors like Kivort Steel, Fenimore Asset Management, Albany Medical Center, Dick’s House of Sport, First New York Federal Credit Union, BBL Construction Services, County Waste & Recycling, 1st National Bank of Scotia, Pioneer, PNJ Technology Partners, Schenectady Hardware and Electric, and Synthesis Architects.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady extends heartfelt gratitude to these sponsors, the dedicated Fall Fling committee, and all the guests who contributed to the success of this event. Your support is instrumental in making a positive impact on the lives of the kids and teens who need us most! Thank you for being champions of our community's future.
