Campership Campaign Provides Lifetime Memories for Schenectady's Youth

On Thursday, June 14, volunteers and supporters of the Campership Campaign of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady gathered at Camp Lovejoy to celebrate another successful campaign, which raised over $105,000 thus far and will allow hundreds of inner-city youth to have a memorable Camp Lovejoy experience this summer.

Celebrating the 60th year of Camp Lovejoy providing lifetime memories to Schenectady’s youth, the Victory Celebration was a fun and festive evening for supporters to visit Camp Lovejoy and see where the magic happens all summer long! Campership supporters make programming possible for more than 300 youth each summer.

Camp Lovejoy includes a swimming pool where swimming lessons occur daily and junior lifeguards learn and practice life saving techniques. As well as ponds for fishing and wildlife education, a vegetable garden, an amphitheater, an arts studio and playing fields. Programming includes specialty camps such as Fine Arts, Dance, Pottery, STEM, Sports, Video Production and more.

Thank you to the many community members who continue to support the kids who need us most!

Please join our incredible supporters who, with their support of the Campership Campaign, change the lives of at-risk youth by giving them a safe place to learn and grow all summer long! There is still time to sponsor a camper this year. Please visit http://www.bgcschenectady.org/campership-campaign to donate today and help us reach our goal of $120,000!
